Let’s Do Better is a philanthropic lifestyle brand driven by products that educate and bring awareness to the black experience. With this initiative, they are shedding light on the incomplete and inaccurate narratives surrounding American history that exclude and diminish the significance of Black history in curriculums across the nation.
Let’s Do Better has teamed up with with interior design incubator Lichen New York on a set of bookends titled “Truth Included”. The set includes a random selection of five books from authors such as Frantz Fanon, Dick Gregory, Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, bell hooks, W.E.B Du Bois and more – titles Let's Do Better deems abundant sources of knowledge disrupting what has been taught in schools.
The bookends are inspired by American artist Donald Judd’s Backward Slant Chair 84, and are available in five colors.
In addition to the bookends, each order includes a limited-edition poster by contemporary artist Corey Presha bringing to life a step-by-step guide to demanding education reform at a local level.
Let’s Do Better donates the net profits of each sale to The Carter Center for K-12 Black History Education, one of the nation's leading organizations committed to educating teachers on how to teach Black history better.
