Designed by Virgil Abloh—artist, designer, artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear, and founder of Off-White™—for the ICA exhibition Virgil Abloh: "Figures of Speech," on view July 3-September 26, 2021.
Virgil Abloh's "Artwork Missing" adorns the front of this hoodie, while the back features a thumbnail of each work in the exhibition. Abloh has made a career of questioning assumptions and subverting expectations. Running throughout his work is an emphasis on dialogue, which the artist creates through his inventive use of language and quotation marks, turning the objects he designs and the people who wear his clothing into “figures of speech,” as seen here.
The sweatshirt is made with legendary Champion heavyweight reverse weave fleece, cut on the crossgrain to resist vertical shrinkage. Featuring heritage details including a double-layer hood, hand-warming pouch pocket, and signature stretch side panels. Issued in a classic, unisex fit made for everyone. Note new label! Current orders will receive an updated version of this hoodie with a new label designed by Virgil Abloh printed directly on the side of the garment.
