This is a lovely little book published on the occasion of Davidson College’s exhibition of The American Library at the Van Every/Smith Galleries from October 25 to December 14, 2018. Essays and photographs of the exhibit are interspersed with reproductions of the African wax print patterns found throughout Shonibare’s work. Texts include an introduction by curator Lia Newman, an essay by Coco Fusco, and an interview between Shonibare and Michelle Grabner.
