Paying tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat’s look, we integrate the iconic three-pointed crown on the back of this jacket suit design. The three-pointed crown has been a reoccurring symbol within Basquiat’s work resulting in an undeniable association with Basquiat himself and the celebration of his short, yet prolific career. The crown, a symbol of power, was used by Basquiat to elevate the subjects of his paintings, while commenting on power dynamics mirrored within his works.
