Archie's Press's, Alexander Archambault, was born in Massachusetts, but quickly left, only to spend his childhood in its redheaded stepchild, Rhode Island. He constantly interacted with this landscape on long drives to New Hampshire. Archie writes, "When setting course, we would always have to choose: go around Boston on 495 or straight through the big dig. Without the GPS, each option brought either mild inconvenience or hours of terrible traffic. I never actually understood this cartography until I drew this map, and pieced together the long web of randomly numbered routes from Provincetown to The Berkshires."
